Couples Therapy and Relationship Counseling
Couples therapy and relationship counseling can be a powerful tool for those who are experiencing difficulties in their relationship. At C&C Betterworks, we understand that every relationship is unique and that every partnership faces different challenges. Our team of experienced therapists is dedicated to helping partners work through their concerns and build stronger, more satisfying relationships.
Restoring Connection: The Benefits of Relationship Counseling
One of the biggest benefits of relationship counseling is that it provides a safe and neutral space for partners to talk openly and honestly about their feelings and concerns, thus improving communication in relationships. Often, partners find that they are unable to communicate effectively with one another, which can lead to misunderstandings, resentment, and even distance. In therapy, partners learn how to communicate more effectively, how to resolve conflicts in a healthy way, and how to listen actively to one another, thereby enhancing conflict resolution in relationships.
Another benefit of relationship counseling is that it helps partners to identify and address negative patterns in their relationship/s, such as communication breakdowns, emotional distance, or issues with trust. By identifying these patterns and addressing them in therapy, partners can learn how to break them and build healthier, happier relationships, thereby focusing on rebuilding trust in relationships.
Achieving Connection: How Relationship Counseling Can Improve Emotional Intimacy
In addition to these benefits, relationship counseling can also help partners to improve their emotional intimacy and strengthen their bond.
Through therapy, partners learn how to express their needs and desires in a healthy way, how to feel heard and understood, and how to create a deeper sense of connection and intimacy.
At C&C Betterworks, we understand that taking the first step toward relationship counseling can be daunting.

Your Therapist Match
Lizzy Petherbridge (she/her), LCMHCA, NCC
I’m passionate about helping people navigate life’s ups and downs and embrace the change they’re ready for. Sometimes we are hit with a particularly intense shit storm keeping us trapped and scared. If you're looking for a breath of fresh air from this storm I may be the therapist for you! I am certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), an effective eye movement therapy for issues such as PTSD, grief, phobias, addiction, OCD, anxiety, and negative self-perceptions.
Lindley Cherry (she/her), LCMHC, QS, NCC
I'm a secular, queer, neurodivergent counselor who offers more than talk therapy. I curse a lot and I'm damn good at my job.
I specialize in adult ADHD and autism assessments (using the Cherry AADI, a diagnostic tool I developed), couples therapy including poly/kink and neurotype-mixed relationships, EMDR and trauma work, and therapy for professionals in high-stress careers. I also work with depression, anxiety, grief, burnout, and provide LGBTQIA+ affirmative counseling as a community member, not just an ally.
I don't hand out worksheets or only nod and say "that must be hard" for 45 minutes. If you want a therapist who will be honest, direct, and actually do the work with you, let’s talk.
